Z/I/N/E was a group exhibition at WHITEHOUSE, Tokyo organised by Chiemi Shimada and Kyoko Yasuhara aka Chinjao Rosu exploring the relationship between artists and zines. To explore the 'unused fragments' aspect of the brief, I searched for the 'ambience in-between' in 13 photos taken in 25 minutes of twilight that distinctly marked the change of season on low sensitivity 35mm colour film. Knowing and being mesmerised by this quality of light since childhood, I felt held in an ambience in-between all things, in an amniotic, oceanic embrace, as the passed storm left the streets flooded with a mirror for the sky and the car lights splashed out like an electric water colour. Thank you to Matt Martin at Photobook Cafe for printing, binding and helping me put the zine together.
